Help instill charitable values in our Indian Guides and Princesses by participating in the Kids Caring for Kids program. The program benefits other children who are undergoing cancer treatment at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. It’s very easy to participate:
- Purchase your child’s favorite stuffed animal (the stuffed animals must be new).
- Remove all sales tags, boxes or packing material.
- Have your child enclose a best wishes card.
- Drop the stuffed animal at your tribe chief’s house before December 16, 2015.
The cards and stuffed animals bring joy and comfort to children during this difficult time in their lives. They name the stuffed animals, and even bring them into surgery with them.
Attention Indian Guides and Princesses – Our annual Fox Nation Holiday Caroling event is being held Sunday, December 13. We will begin caroling at 11:00 am and plan to be done shortly before 12:00 pm. Please plan to arrive around 10:45 am to organize in the lobby and hand out the sheet music.
This is a wonderful event that brings a lot of joy to the residents of Claridge Healthcare Center in Lake Bluff. This has been an annual tradition for many years and as many of you know that have participated in this event in the past, the residents truly look forward to this celebration every year. We’ve even had our Braves and Princesses bring holiday treats for the residents which they loved.
For those of you new to the Fox Nation, or who have not participated before, we gather as a group and walk through the facility singing holiday songs for all of the residents. This is another truly meaningful community experience for our children and opportunity for the Fox Nation to continue our long tradition of giving back to our local community.
The address for Claridge Healthcare Center is below. Please let me know if you have any questions. A special Ah, Ho to Cyber Chief Chris Jensen for organizing this year’s participation.

This November, as part of Fox Nation’s Week of Service, a team of over 60 Fox Nation volunteers donated their efforts to various community service events throughout Lake County.
On Tuesday November 17th, a team of boys and their fathers volunteered at the Lake County Cares HUGS Holiday Food Drive. The HUGS Food Drive coordinated annually by LakeCountyCares, a volunteer organization based out of Lake Forest’s Gorton Community Center. This year the goal was to feed over 500 needy Lake County families for Thanksgiving. Through an outpouring of local community support, they were able to achieve that goal.
That same evening, another team of Fox Nation dad’s and their children volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville. FMSC is a nonprofit organization empowering volunteers to pack meals for the malnourished in nearly 70 countries. The Fox Nation Indian Guides and Indian Princess volunteers helped pack 16,200 meals for starving children – enough food to feed 45 children for an entire year. The 75 boxes of food were packed for shipment to multiple countries: Nicaragua, Honduras & Tanzania.
Forthcoming volunteer activities include: the annual Fox Nation Indian Guides and Princesses holiday caroling event at the Claridge House in Lake Bluff on December 13th and Fox Nation’s December drive to collect stuffed animals for Lurie Children’s Hospital Cancer Ward.
