Help the needy in Lake County have more to be thankful for this Thanksgiving by organizing a tribe volunteer event, or participating as a family in the LakeCountyCares Thanksgiving H.U.G.S. Food Drive at Gorton Community Center now through November 21!
There are a number of opportunities for children and their Dads—or the whole family—to kick off the holiday season spending time together helping others.
Bring these items to the Lake County Cares office at the Gorton Community Center on or before November 16.
- Rice, Canned Fruit, Pinto Beans, Stuffing Mix
- Canned Yams, Corn Muffin Mix, Powdered Milk
- Canned Corn or Beans, Canned Pork and Beans
- Gift Cards for Frozen Turkeys from Walmart, Jewel or Target
LakeCountyCares needs help sorting food. If you are interested in volunteering for this individually or as a tribe please email firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line “Sort Food Drive”. Times are available from November 17 to 19.
They also need volunteers for loading food onto trucks. If you can help load, arrive at Gorton Community Center on November 20 at 3 p.m. All loading should be completed by 5:30 p.m.
If you would like to help deliver food to the needy, arrive at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21 at the Gorton Community Center.
