Attention Indian Guides & Princesses, our friends over at the Equestrian Connection are hosting a Halloween party and horse show on October 24th. They are in need of 300 pumpkins (soccer ball sized or smaller) for this event and are looking for donations.
Mobilize your tribe to see how many pumpkins you can accumulate and donate! They can be dropped off at Equestrian Connection anytime between now and October 23rd.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Equestrian Connection, they are a 501(c)(3) organization who provide therapy to special needs children and adults primarily through the use of horses. See this touching video featuring Emma Alt, one of the many children who benefit from this fantastic organization.

If you plan on attending either the 9:00am session or the 10:30am session, please let Mike Baird know asap. He needs to give a headcount estimate to the Forest Preserve.
Go back to early Lake County as 18th-century French voyageurs lead activities on land and water. Discover why voyageurs traveled to Illinois in the 1740s and learn their effect on natural and cultural development. Weather permitting, paddle our 34-foot canoe across the lake and back in time.
As a special addition to the program, a member of the Ojibwe tribe will be present to teach our Braves and Princesses about how the Native Americans traded with the Voyageurs and how it changed their lives forever.
Download the waiver here. A waiver must be completed and brought with for each family attending. Father and child may share the same waiver. This event is being held at Independence Grove in Libertyville. Click here for more information on the specific location, and to add it to your calendar.
Due to the size of our group, there are two sessions being held. One from 9:00am to 10:30am, and another from 10:30am to Noon. Choose the best that works for you.
