Pinewood Derby Race – March 8th

Attention Mighty Fox Nation!

Save the date for one of our most popular events of the year! Our 2015 Pinewood Derby race will be held Sunday, March 8th at the Lake Bluff Middle School.

Register your child here to participate

Break out the power tools, sandpaper, and paint and create the fastest and coolest car you can. Trophies will be awarded for the fastest cars for boys and girls tribes, as well as a special trophy for overall fastest car. Design trophies will be awarded for the coolest car designs as well as trophies for the most authentic Native American themed designs.

This is an all family event, so bring the siblings and invite the grandparents.

11:30 AM – Weigh-in and Registration Begins

12:30 PM – Judging on the following categories:

•       Overall Paint and Design
•       Native American Themed Design
•       Each category will have multiple places
1:00 PM – RACING STARTS

Pine Wood Derby car kits will be available for sale from your tribe chiefs. Cars can also be purchased from our Indian Scout Colin McBean. Colin will have a box of cars on his porch beginning tomorrow morning. No need to contact him, just show up and take as many cars as you need and leave cash in the mail box near his front door. Cars are $5 each on the honor system.

Please note that our Fox Nation Pine Wood car kits are custom kits and are NOT the ones used by the Boy Scouts or other Nations. You will ONLY be allowed to use a car from one of our approved kits.

Race rules, car weights and dimensions can be found here. Cars that do not meet the weight and dimension limits will NOT be eligible for a trophy. Cars will be weighed and measured during race registration. Basic tools will be available on site for last minute modifications but please bring any special tools or extra weights you might need if you’re close on weight.

Feed My Starving Children Recap

A special thanks to the Indian Guides & Princesses who volunteered at Feed My Starving Children on Saturday February 21, 2015. This service event helped teach our children to help others who are less fortunate, while they packed close to 12,000 meals. This is enough food to feed 70 children for a year. The Fox Nation volunteers hand-packed meals specifically formulated for malnourished children in Africa. The meals packed will save lives and advance a desperate community – all progress starts with food.
